Point News Room – How We Tackle the Plastic Problem

Tackling the Plastic Problem

For the past eight years, we have been committed to the responsible and sustainable use of plastics in our business. As a part of this commitment, we recently reached ‘engaged’ status with non-profit social enterprise and membership organisation, Responsible Plastic Management (RPM) Program, who help organisations identify and reduce problem plastics and set up management systems that can be certified against their RPM Standard.

At Point, we believe that we all have a responsibility to look after our planet and make sure  we do everything possible to leave it in a better place than it currently is. And our engagement with the RPM Program is another step towards our vision of changing the industry for good by delivering sustainable and innovative solutions, executed with integrity.

Our Head of Sustainability, Chris O’ Brien, believes this engagement will have a long-term positive effect on the environment:

We are incredibly excited about becoming engaged with the Responsible Plastic Management Program (RPM). This is bolstered by the fact we are the first in Africa and the Middle East to show our commitment to managing plastic responsibly with RPM. Sustainability isn’t a trend, it's a mandate and we are focused on the future and the positive impact we can have on our planet alongside our clients

Ultimately, our intention is to reduce our carbon footprint to ensure we’re moving towards a more sustainable future by using more responsibly sourced materials - from the board used in manufacturing structures, the plastic in our promotional items and the paper used in our print jobs.
